Interview with Luciano Bujeiro Rojo

1. What led you to choose graphite as your main medium, and what advice would you give to artists still searching for their own best fit?

Graphite allows me to create fine details and soft tones, while also giving me the freedom to
correct and experiment. Within its shades of light and shadow, I find the possibility to focus
on the essential, to capture what I am truly searching for. I chose it because it feels honest,
raw, and timeless.

To those still searching, my advice is simple: experiment without fear. Explore different
techniques and materials, but pay attention to the medium that makes you feel both
comfortable and fulfilled. When you find it, you will know it is your place.

2. Can you walk us through your creative process from idea to finished piece?

I begin with an observation or a question that moves me. I make sketches and then let the medium guide me, seeking a dialogue rather than absolute control.

3. What’s the most challenging part of creating art for you, and how do you overcome it?

The hardest part is expressing what I truly want to convey. I overcome it by letting go of control and allowing the unexpected to become part of the work.

4. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned about working with Graphite?

That simplicity can be infinite. A single pencil can hold an entire universe of contrasts,
textures, and emotions. Graphite has taught me that limits are not obstacles but doors that
open to new possibilities.

5. What steps have been most effective for you in getting your work noticed and building a following?

Sharing not only finished pieces but also the process and intention. Authenticity connects more than perfection, and consistency on social media has been key.

“Conexión divina” / Grafito y carboncillo

6. If you could give one piece of advice to a graphite artist who wants to take their work/career to the next level, what would it be?

Do not chase technical perfection alone; pursue what you truly want to express. Graphite
has the power to go beyond representation and reach the universal. Dare to leave your soul
on the paper —your doubts, your wounds, your light. True connection comes from
authenticity, not from flawless execution.
