Artist Statement

Having been trained in a more traditional representational fashion in a number of mediums but most prominently oil, I currently use my skills to attempt to coalesce traditional techniques with contemporary design and subjects. In many ways this manifests through tightly rendered figures and portraits alongside bold and graphic colors and patterns. I hope to encourage others to view my work- and art as a whole- in an experimental and dynamic way. Being a person of color, I also hope to bring forward underrepresented people and customs into the modern art sphere.
