Artist Statement

Working with molten glass is a delicate dance between control and spontaneity. Each sculpture begins as a fiery, malleable material, shaped and manipulated through a dance of breath, heat, and technique. Color plays an integral role in my work, serving as a conduit for emotion and expression. The vibrant hues that flow through the glass reflect a kaleidoscope of emotions—joy, wonder, and a sense of boundless possibility. Through the layering and blending of colors, I seek to evoke an emotional response in the viewer, inviting them to experience a visual symphony of hues and tones within each sculpture that I create.

The body of work I am currently exploring, entitled ‘Sinew,’ serves as a metaphor for the interconnectedness of all things. Like the sinews that bind muscle to bone, these sculptures remind us of the invisible threads that weave together the fabric of existence. They invite us to contemplate the delicate balance between strength and fragility, tension and release, and the intricate relationships that underpin our world.
The sinuous shapes of the sculptures evoke a sense of organic movement, reminiscent of the ebb and flow of natural forms. Each curve and contour is meticulously crafted to create a harmonious composition, inviting the viewer to explore the dynamic interplay between positive and negative space.
